How it works
A GPA is a weighted average, not a plain one. Each course contributes its grade points multiplied by its credits, and the total is divided by the total credits — which is why a four-credit course moves your GPA twice as much as a two-credit one with the same grade.
Grades are converted to points using a 4.0 scale by default. Scales genuinely differ between institutions, so if yours uses different values, type them directly rather than relying on the letters.

Common questions
What is the difference between GPA and CGPA?
GPA usually covers one term; CGPA is cumulative across every term you have completed, weighted by each term's credits. Use the CGPA calculator once you have more than one semester to combine.
How do credits affect my GPA?
Directly. Credits are the weights, so a high grade in a four-credit course lifts your average far more than the same grade in a one-credit one. That is also why failing a heavy course is so costly.
My university uses a 10-point scale. Can I still use this?
Yes — type your own point values into the grade column instead of using the letter options. The weighted-average maths is identical whatever the scale.
Are my grades sent anywhere?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser, so nothing you type is uploaded, logged or stored. There is no account and no record of what you entered.
